Every Floor

Today we’re starting something new. Most days we open the text and scripture and work through it carefully, verse by verse. Starting today, Saturdays are different. On Saturdays, we tell a story.

Every story will be rooted in Scripture. Some will stay close to the biblical account. Others, like today’s, take what the text says and carry it into our own world, into the places where we actually live. Listen first. Then come back a week from tomorrow, when we’ll open the Bible and talk through what the story drew from the text, what it imagined, and why it matters. (That gives you a week to listen, to reflect, to relisten and to think about the story).

Our first story was inspired by the book of Isaiah. It’s about a man who has everything he ever wanted, and who decides one night that it’s still not enough.

Today’s story: Every Floor.

Created, edited, directed, and produced by Greg Newell.

And a listener note for this episode:

Listener note: This story deals with addiction and a man’s fall from a rooftop. It’s handled with care and is not graphic, but it may not be suitable (or understandable) for younger listeners. Join us a next Sunday for a discussion of the story and the Scriptures behind it.
