Spoiler: contrary to what you may have been taught, or understood, the wise and the foolish builders BOTH believe in Christ!

This is one of the most familiar stories Jesus ever told—and one of the most misunderstood.

Jesus is not speaking to outsiders. He is speaking to those who already call Him Lord—and He confronts them directly:

“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46)

This is not about hearing truth.
It is about obedience.

Because every life is being built—and the storm is coming for both houses:

“The rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew…” (Matthew 7:25)

The difference is not who listened.
The difference is who obeyed.

This episode strips away the familiar version of the parable and returns to the raw words of Christ—testing everything by Scripture alone.

Because in the end, there are only two outcomes:

“And it fell: and great was the fall of it.” (Matthew 7:27)

Search the Scriptures (Acts 17:11).

Test everything by Scripture, and may the Spirit of truth guide into all understanding (John 16:13).
