Don’t Miss Your Ticket to Eternity
Imagine this: by some miracle, you were told tomorrow’s winning lottery numbers. You write them down. You know they’re right. But then you decide not to bother buying a ticket. The next day the numbers are called—and sure enough, they’re the winners. But you have no ticket.
That’s not a money-loss story. That’s a tragedy of unbelief.
Jesus paints the same picture about eternity. In John 3:16, God has given us the winning numbers: “Whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” But here’s the catch—if you really believe, you will act on it.
- John 3:36 says, “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life.”
- Luke 6:46: “Why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I say?”
- James 2:17: “Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”
It’s not enough to say you believe the numbers. If you don’t buy the ticket, you didn’t truly believe. In the same way, it’s not enough to say you believe in Jesus. If you don’t repent, obey, and follow Him, your faith is empty.
On the last day, many will stand before Christ and say, “Lord, Lord!” But He will reply, “I never knew you; depart from Me” (Matt 7:23). Why? Because they heard but never obeyed. They had the numbers—but never acted.
Friend, the winning ticket to eternity is in your hand right now. Christ died, rose again, and offers life to all who repent and believe. Don’t just nod at the truth—obey it. Turn to Christ, confess Him as Lord, be baptized in His name, and follow Him with your life.
Don’t miss your ticket to eternity. The numbers are called. The day is near. Believe—and act—before it’s too late.
