Proselyte From Hell - You've Met Him
Last time we said the woes were not going to get any easier. Jesus is just beginning. We are still on the temple court and only at the 2nd woe - the judgement on the Pharisees and the Scribes. By now, you the listener know that when we slow down, we go deeper. We ask the questions hopefully you want to ask. We dig up the scripture to answer the question. We never try to posit opinion over scripture.
We learned some things about the Jews I did not realize in this deep dive. I didn't know that they actually had missions beyond the Israeli outlines. The God-fearers that we mentioned a couple of podcasts ago did not come about by sheer osmosis. There are Jewish evangelist that went out into the regions for the sake of creating Jewish converts! Yeah, I know! I thought you had to BE Jewish...
Once we understood the nature of Jesus' rebuke in this 2nd woe, the entire landscape of world-wide religions opens up. And then at the personal level, we arrive at some conclusions about GOOD people who are not Christians! YES, THEY EXIST - of course they do!... at least from a human perspective. So listen up, this podcast can catch you off guard in so many ways. It certainly did us!
