Podcast With the Father - Ask - Seek - Knock

As we continue our Red-Letter Bible journey, we arrive at Matthew 7:7-12 and Luke 11:9-13. It is so easy to just gloss over this and because of this, our prayers become either very superficial or sometimes even scripted. And that loses the meaning of this passage. To bring it closer to home, I started to think about some of the best podcast hosts that I have listened to, and Joe Rogan comes to mind. He never comes to meeting with a scripted show. He is genuinely curious.
So, think of it this way. You're Joe Rogan and God is your guest on the show. First you address God's credentials, his reverence, his sovereignty, who he is. And then you start with asking questions. You may not like or agree with the answers sometimes, but you don't sit on the answers, you probe. You want to know the why behind the answer. And then you realize, well, he hasn't quite answered this question. So, you ask again. And you keep asking until you get an answer. Then you probe that answer. If you go through this process in prayer, you have just followed Jesus' prescription for prayer: Ask, Seek and Knock.
